HB Beach Party
Beach Party @ Huntington Beach
Beach Volleyball, Surfing, Beach Cruisers, Bodyboarding, or just fun in the sun in Surf City USA! Beach party snacks and beverages provided. (Organizers will be there earlier starting at 1 pm for set-up if you like to join them.)
Surfboard, Wetsuit, Bodyboard, Beach Cruisers, Umbrella, and Beach Chair rentals available at Zack’s Surf Shop located just north of the HB Pier. www.zackshb.com
Insider parking and driving tips: As usual, parking on Saturday afternoon can be tight. Please carpool from the Irvine Stake Center if you can. There is metered parking along Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH). Or better yet, you can find free parking on the other side of PCH in any of the "numbered streets", and walk a few blocks to the beach party. We also plan to provide our very own OC Conference Shuttle Service. Stay tuned for more details...
To avoid the US Open Surfing and OC Fair traffic so that you can just get to the beach, don't use Beach Blvd or the 55 Fwy (Newport Blvd). From Irvine, instead take the less scenic Euclid St exit off of the 405 Fwy and drive on Ellis which becomes Main St. Follow Main St. and then take any of the "numbered streets" like 17th St to the right towards the beach to avoid to Downtown HB traffic on Main St. (15-20 minute drive from Irvine)
Please note: Held at the same time as our OC Conference Beach Party, is the national US Open of Surfing Competition also held in Huntington Beach. HOWEVER...no worries...the US Open festivities are held South of the HB Pier, while we are located a good mile north, North of the HB Pier away from the crowds. :)

Kayaking in Newport Harbor
Kayaking in Newport Harbor
Enjoy kayaking in the calm waters of beautiful Newport Harbor touring the canals of multi-million dollar homes and sea life. Tickets for kayak rentals are available for the first 25 men and first 25 women on the conference registration page, and will go quickly.
Everyone will need to purchase their tickets beforehand on the conference registration page. The group will depart at 2:15 pm sharp from the Irvine Stake Center to carpool to the Newport Rental Base (short 10-15 minute drive). Bring your change of clothes with you. Parking is free at the Newport Rental Base.
(We will have signs at the Irvine Stake Center designating where to meet to carpool)
Bring your printed Kayaking Eventbrite ticket (and liability waiver) to the Newport Rental Base to receive your kayak. Here's the liability waiver http://southwindkayaks.com/pdf/web-rental-release-2011.pdf
So that means you can't decide last minute that Saturday, August 6, to join the kayaking group. :) No cash will be exchanged onsite.
About half of the group will be kayaking in double kayaks with the rest kayaking in single kayaks. (So ideally for those interested, there can be a guy and a gal in each kayak. ) We will have a guide (local LDS avid kayaker) leading the group.
Insider driving and parking tip: on Bayside Dr, take the first left entrance with the big "Southwind Kayak Rentals" sign on the fence. Drive through the parking lot and the Newport Rental Base is located under the PCH Bridge.

Montage Resort Park
Montage Beach Resort Excursion to Laguna Beach (for Elite Singles 60+)
Come join other Elite Singles 60+ for a 270-degree panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean at the Five Star Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. Singles in their 50s can also attend if they want. http://www.montagelagunabeach.com
The Montage Resort offers public access to beautifully landscaped paved walkways overlooking Aliso Creek Beach, locally known as one of best scenic spots in Orange County. There's also beach access as well. At the Montage, there are cliffside or poolside places to sit and enjoy a drink or dessert with other singles at the poolside cafe overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There's also a great upper lobby inside the Montage as well where people can sit and socialize if the marine layer comes in. Basically, the Montage Resort activity is a way to experience the beach without the need to change clothes or get into a bathing suit. :)
Everyone will meet first at the Irvine Stake Center at 3:15 pm sharp outside at the front of the building right after the last workshop, and carpool together. A host will meet and greet you with maps, directions, activity schedule, and will join you at the Montage.
Insider parking and driving tip: To avoid Laguna Canyon traffic, don't take the 133 into Laguna Beach. Do take Culver South to Newport Coast Dr to PCH South into Laguna Beach. At the intersection of Wesley Dr and S Coast Hwy, turn right and you will find the hidden Treasure Island Park parking lot ($1.50/hr) from the street. (no pun intended) Or the Montage offers valet parking too ($5 w/validation).

6:00 pm – 8:30 pm (All-age 31+) 3-Course Italian Style Dinner (6:00 - 7:00 pm) & Live Entertainment with Hollywood Magician, John George (7:00 - 7:45 pm) followed by a Broadway Review with Marvin Goldstein and Vanessa Joy (7:45 pm - 8:15 pm) @ Anaheim Stake Center (dinner included in conference price)
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Optional Restaurant Dinner Groups at different restaurants for each decade (30s Midsingles, 40s, 50s, 60+) (cost of dinner extra, not included in conference price) Restaurants can include Cheesecake Factory, Claim Jumper, California Pizza Kitchen, Lazy Dog Cafe, and others... (Most 30s Midsingles choose the Restaurant Dinner Group option)
Note: If you choose the Restaurant Dinner Group option as part of your registration, please honor your selection (and not flake) by attending the dinner at that restaurant, since the food budget at the dinner at the Anaheim Stake Center, and reservations and deposits at restaurants are made based on your selection. Based on the interest level, there may be multiple restaurant groups for each "decade" since we like to have dinner groups of no more than 20-25 people per restaurant, which allows people to get to know each other better than in a large group setting. If that happens, at the Saturday Dinner Group Registration Desk on Saturday at the Irvine Stake Center during the Saturday Morning Devotional, Saturday Workshops, and Saturday Lunch, you can choose which restaurant for your decade you would like to attend on Saturday Night.
**This restaurant group option is available to those who register for the entire conference or all-day Saturday ticket. There may be a few extra restaurant dinner group tickets (first come, first served) available to those who registered for just the Saturday Workshops and Lunch.**
If you have a change of plans before the conference, please notify us at ocsingleadultconference@hotmail.com so we can update your registration. Please refer to the FAQs page for more info on our group dinners.
